i love fabric covered buttons... they have that vintage charm from the 70s don't you think?
... do you remember that little flower stamp on those tiny shipping tags that was featured in last weeks post? well it was actually designed with the aim of making fabric buttons.... BUT i just have not had the spare time till now to finish making them.
you see i am one of those people who really like to finish something they start... & preferably in one or two sittings. being a new mum, i have had to simply let go of this concept and learn to grab hold of mini snippets of time and 'make'.
anyway, i am blabbering. so, a few months on since idea conception... here they are!
in blue.
in red.
in orange.
and a leaf print in green.
so there you have it... a simple product that does not look like its got much work in it hey?
...well it really does take a lot more time, thought and love than using mass-produced printed fabric to cover buttons.
:: hoping to expand this range soon with some brooches and mini buttons...would love to hear your opinion :)
ps: each set is available in my shop now. happy days!
They look great, but I think you can tell they have lots of love in them ;)
ReplyDeleteHaving 3 kids on school holidays I can relate to catching snippets of time.
ReplyDeleteButtons are very pretty and I think brooches would look fab too!
Love them, they're so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow they look great. Its hard to squeeze it all in at times, school holidays here so I can appreciate the little bits of crafting.
ReplyDeleteOh I so get the fitting in tiny snippets of making! With three kids pretty much home with me full time I have found ways to include them in my sewing/creating time, but that doesn't work at the time.
ReplyDeleteI just love your buttons, the colours are gorgeous and the prints are fab!
Oh they are lovely ... but my fav are the little green leaves, so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for fabric covered buttons too. I will make any excuse to use them. Love yours, great design and wonderful colours!
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect Nikki! I am wondering if a small safety pin would fit through the back to turn them into a brooch/pin? :)
ReplyDeletethey look fabulous! and i know what you mean about not being able to finish something in one or two sittings, can be very frustrating at times. :)
